what i do to be a good programmer for PLC

John_Leaver Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Dear mehtabahmed, you can start by getting a cheap s200 from ebay, I find these easier than the 300/400 to program, then wire up some switches to the inputs and lights to the outputs,please use 24v dc much safer, Then start playing with programs, see what you can do. Later move to the 300 and 400s it quite a bit different.But there is stuff that is the same. I find the siemens to program quite a bit harder than omron,ab and mits but then I have had more to do with these. It does also come down to what is used around the places you want to or are working in. Remeber there is no silly questions.

ect_09 Experienced Member Joined: 1/24/2014 Last visit: 6/11/2025 Posts: 119 Rating: (1)	thanks for the comments.....!!! i am working in a company without pay (power plant.) on GE turbines for 8 hours. i see there use of PLC , DCS , SCADA. thats why i strong willing is to be good with with them. its harder to purchase PLC without pay for me this time. i am from pakistan.. but TIA portal provide simulation without PLC interface. i think its good for working and gaining and understanding the things.. after job i ll purchase my own PLC. am trying alot to get job but may this is not right time for getting pay in my luck. am waiting for good time.. hope so it will come soon. i download last night a book AUTOMATION with step7 in STL and SCL. by hans berger.. i just overview it.. i think its a good book for begineers. i can upload this if some one needed. please tell me how to change the language from ladder logic to STL. i want to program in STL.
