ect_09 Experienced Member Joined: 1/24/2014 Last visit: 6/11/2025 Posts: 119 Rating: (1)	Hello, i am newbie on this fourm. i read this fourm many time.here is the place where i found lot of help that make me ease to slove problems... #Respect for admins, (register today). now a days am using TIA PORTAL SP1, i am good with ladder logic...i want to creat HMI.. for example i have 3 input and 3 output..i knw little bit that button as input here and circles can be slect as output...but am unable to configure these button and circle... i need a document or tutorial which explain all the high lighted things and make me able to start from 0 level with HMI and go to advance level.. best wishes....!!!! (i dont have PLC , i just want to done simulation) kindly help me in this manners. Attachment new.jpg (298 Downloads)

So if you want to set an output with PLC input and your hmi, put a M-bit or DB-bit(set by HMI) in parralel with the PLC input. Regards, Marcjan

(i) i dont have real PLC and HMI, that is the reason am interested to simulate them and to get working experience. (ii) i made a ladder logic for simple I0.0 and Q0.0 i.e i0.0 Q0.0 \|--\| \|-------------------------------------( )--\| then i go for HMI, select my panal. then creat button and config it with events "PRESS ==setbiot", then select event "RELEASE== reset" also tag these both event then i creat a square for LED indication .. so i select animation put tag there. when i simulate my HMI , button did nothing but when i input to ladder from simulation panel then LED change the colour as i did in animation set. what should i do that button should work for output LED.???

S7 AUTOMAN Posts: 515 Rating: (56)	hi, what Marcjan meant is, instead of using physical I/O adresses (I0.0, I0.1...), use memory adresses (M0.0,M0.1...)instaed so that you can simulate it from the HMI without getting overwritten. M0.0 M1.0 \|--\| \|-------------------------------------( )--\|

Additionally you can also use the DB adresses.(usually we dont have this problem of memory bits limitation) and when i use timer then i need to set M bit with instead of time when am working with HMI?? i din understand your question. But if you want to simulate somthing using the PLC sim, its better to use the memory adresses rather than the physical addresses and if you have a real PLC with the respective I/O's, then you might use the physical I/O's as well based on the requirement.(not that you need to only use memory adresses)
