Hello moronar; J_Bell's reply covers most important points; just one detail however: for non-Siemens Profibus masters, you must build a specific gsd file for the DP-PA link, in which the PA slaves will be used as modules, outside your Profibus-DP configurator. For that job, Siemens provides the GSD Tool; the following application guide will show you where to download the file, and how to use it to build the specific gsd file for your project, that will include your specific PA slaves. https://pia.khe.siemens.com/%5Cefiles%5Cfeldg%5Cfiles%5Capplication_guides%5Cen%5CAG060501.pdf Note; you will need a Java-machine on your PC, it is afree downlad, look for Java Virtual Machine from Sun Microsystems. Once this gsd file is constructed, you insert it in your DP-master's configurator and use it as your IM153-2 slave in the network. Sounds harder than it is; we use this GSD Tool with both Rockwell and GE Fanuc Profibus masters without too many problems. Just proceed step by step. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
