S7 1200 how to change hardware settings from analog io in the program

Always_in_Control Advanced Member Joined: 3/20/2013 Last visit: 9/5/2025 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Hi I have a 1200 cpu with a SM1234 Ai4/AQ2 module and i will change de in- en outputchannel between 0-10v and 4-20mA by programming (system function?) i've seen it before someone dit it on a 314ifm cpu thanks a lot

Not an optimal solution, but it does answer your request.

Configure set of outputs as 0-10 and another set of outputs 0-20mA (and scale as needed by the user). To switch, control a single digital output for every analog output that in turns controls a physical contact switch relay (2-pole) and run appropriate wiring to the input side and field wiring on the output/ common side of the relay. Then in your logic, you just change what output and scaling is used to drive the right output module and relay to produce the required command signal. Complicated to do and a bit expensive. Another option is to attach connectors to your outputs and just wire up to whatever the customer needs and select which devices are actually doing the work. Less complicated - no relay, no digital output, but is not "on the fly" unless you have a robot swap your connectors. At some point it devolves into ridiculousness designing something overly complicated to do a very simple task.
