Power modules in a safety ET 200s

Is it so that you have to devide your failsafe inputs and outputs by power modules with standard in- and outputs ? is this anprescription for using safety I/O in an ET200S ? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Hello S7-FreshMan There is no right or wrong answer to this question. You do not have to use seperate PM Modules for safe or non safe I/O Modules. You can have mixed Modules after a PM Module. For Example : I had a small Machine controlled by a ET200S IM151F PLC with: 1 PM Module 2 8pt Input 1 Relay Module 1 Safety Input Module 1 Safety Qutput Module 2 Safety Relay Module (driven by Safety Output Module) As long as you do not go over the Power Limit of the PM Module and ensure that your Safety Circuit safely shuts off the Machine this can be done IF there are no regulation or requieremts by the customer or the safety design. But it is a good practise use separate PM Modules for Inputs /Outputs and Safety. Regards / m.f.g
