The function AG_CNTRL can check,terminate and re-establish the connection. If an error occurs during the data transfer sometimes a re-establishment of the connection makes sence. That is why there is a block with AG_CNTRL. But the older CPs (e.g. your CP)doesn't support the function AG_CNTRL. In this case you must use the other block in the library - without AG_CNTRL. This blocks takes a little bit longer in some cases of errors. Wüstenräuber

There are no errors in programming in block without AG_CNTRL. It's another handling if an telegram error occurs. If there is an invalid telegram which is sent from the communication partner to S7, then it's sometimes necessary to empty the stack in the CP, so that the next telegram can be transferred correctly. The fastet way to empty the stack is to terminate and re-establish the connection (with the internal called AG_CNTRL). If the block without AG_CNTRL is used, the CP must be also emptied.But it's only possible with a byte-wise emptying. This takes a longer time than the AG_CNTRL. Wüstenräuber
