Hi all,

when i need to make TC_SEND Or TC_RECV block as in my example

[snip] ...

I select my Data from DB8 by the pointer #p from value to value

I dont know exactly how to use it :(

i type in data {P#DB8.DBX0.0 BYTE 998} and have no error but my questions

1- Is there any wrong in it ?

2- What the meaning of instraction {P#DB8.DBX0.0 BYTE 998}

3- What the different bettween {P#DB8.DBX0.0BYTE998} and {P#DB8.DBX0.0REAL998}

Please focus on my DB8 i have bool byte real and int values so i afraid that make a problem

Quoting the TiA Portal help file:

An ANY type parameter points to the start of a data area and specifies its length. An ANY pointer occupies 10 bytes of memory and may contain the following information:

• Data type:

  Data type of the elements of the data area

• Repetition factor

  Number of elements of the data area

• DB number

  Data block that contains the declaration of data area elements.

• Memory area:

  Memory area of the CPU that stores the data area elements.

• Start address of the data in the format "byte.bit"

  Data area start identified by the ANY pointer.

An ANY pointer cannot identify structures. It can only be assigned to local variables.

The following table shows the formats for the declaration of an ANY pointer:
