Wincc Flexible connection failure message.

Harjeet Singh Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am working with WinCC Flexible. I have 4 PLCs connected to Wincc Flexible on profinet. Is there any way to detect the connection failure and show a message/Alarm on screen with connection number detail. Thanks!

Hello Hajeet Singh, for each connection create a toggle bit (a bit which is permanently changing between 0 and 1) and check, if the bit stays 0 or 1 for more than half of toggle period. If so, you create an alarm for the connection. regards

eisenpferdreiter Posts: 1058 Rating: (93)	Hello Harjeet Singh, there are system messages, which you can use. In menu "Extras"->"Settings" (last entry in pull-down menu) - select "workbench"->"Settings for project window". Here select "show all entries" and klick OK. You will find then in your project window in folder messages an additional entry "system messages". Click on "System messages" and you will get them all listed. The message group which would interest you is starting with number 140000. Also numbers 160000 and 160001. If you select a system message you can use "properties". There you will find an emtry "events"->"coming". And here you can use a function to handle the event. That would be standard solution in WinCC flexible. It should work when connected to a single CPU, but I am not sure if it works with more CPUs, as there is one physical, but 4 logical connections in your case. You will have to try. regards
