Adding I/O module in run mode

We have a rail and lets call it rail 2. Slot 4 are still available and I am planning to add an additional DI module to it. Please note that our system are configure to be redundant system. I just want to make sure that when I do it I am doing it right so kindly please advise. Furthermore, If we want to add another rail to the last end of the module rail (adding another set of DP slave system) how can I do it safetly? Regards,

Hello, Please check section "17-System modifications during operation " of THIS manual for possible scenarios and procedure in PCS 7/STEP 7.In case of critical process situation(e.g cost/environment), it is recommended to test the procedure in a test set up before final modification. 1. Add the new components to the system. – Plug new central modules into the racks. – Plug new module into existing modular DP stations – Add new DP stations to existing DP master systems I hope this helps, Hamid Hosseini
