Hi Navnag, for PCS 7 exist Manuals with the Hardware, Which you can use in your PCS 7 Version. Look in tofollowing Linkand search for the Manual "Released Modules" from your PCS 7 Version. So look in the Manual for the S5 I/O's if you can use it. |

Thanks No Name I like your Alias I have gone through this manual. It does list IM 463-2 as a "released" module. However It does not list any modules installed downstream in S5 racks connected through IM 463-2. I believe that operating DI / DO modules should not be a majorissue. S5 Analog modules will need to be handled manually as the Analog scaling is quite different in S5 & S7. I wonder what other possible issues would I face if we use S5 I/Os in S5 racks connected to PCS7 controller on Profibus or IM463-2 Cheers Navnag |

Hi Navnag, have you seen this FAQ? How do I link an S7-400 with S5 expansion units? In manual S7-400 Module Data, chapter 7you will find more information about the IM463-2. Hope this helps. Regards jumo |

Yes Jumo, We have already considered hardware using IM463-2 ( and third party Profibus interface modules ). What we are trying to confirm is the suitability of the PCS7 software in conjuction with S5 I/Os ( Especially Analog I/Os ) Thanks Navnag |
