PID problem with TIA V13

We would like use the PID compact controller of the S7 1200 for a furnace temparature control. The problem is that we would like use PI controller. It looks like that the "I" part starts with a negativ value (It is impossibel in normal case!)and from the trend we do not see that the P part. It means for the furnace that the close loop control value start with time delay, and the temperature are decreasing with 20°C. What is your experience with a high temperature control? The SP and the PV are between 400...800°C. We tried the Input and Input PER but it looks like if the input value in normalised between 0...100 , the controller working somehow?! Has got somebody such a experience with PID Compact block? Thank You! ZSolt

Estring Posts: 86 Rating: (3)	Hi ZsoltBarabas, I expiriencing few dificulties with the PID compact too in TIA V12, but i used the PID controller in the input i used the actual value after I scaled it to engineering values and my SP as well in engineering units(e.g 25 celcius). For the PID parameters i used the pretuning and fine tuning functions and looks it works pretty good my loops pretty much stable, you can choose in what method do you want it to calculate the parameters by "PID_DB".sPid_Calc.i_CtrlTypeTIR i used the i_CtrlTypeTIR = 3: Ziegler-Nichols PID you can try i_CtrlTypeTIR = 4: Ziegler-Nichols PI, just write a value of 4. I hope it will help you. And know i would like to ask few questions about the PID compact, NOTE: My system in most cases are remote and fully automated i have to keep all the SP's and parameters retain and not to reset on every stop/start or power off. 1. After i got the parameters for every PID loop in my program i faced a problem that after every power off or stop/start PLC my backup parameters are back to default, is there any way to keep it as it was before the change? or just use the backup bit on every PLC start? 2. How can i determine my PID's to work always in auto mode? set up on every starup the mode to 3? 3. As PID backup parameters the SP also back to default value that 0, how can i keep it retain? 4. Can i have some TIPS/examples from you experts how to make it work perfect? 5. and how can i make my PID auto-tuning function with a web server as an interface. Thanks in advance.
