Hello opauto dchartierhas put you onto exactly the right track. In the Link provided by him, you will also find further links to the following pages :
Wizard for creating connection data for Modbus TCP communication. (Modbus TCP Wizard ) This Wizard greatly simplifies setting up the MODBUS TCP Configuration in the S7 CPU. It creates and parameterises all the Configuration DBs in a User friendly manner. Sample Program - Communication between SIMATIC S7 and Modicon M340 via Modbus TCP SInce you are going to connect your SCADA to the S7 CPU on MODBUS TCP/IP, normally the CPU will be configured as a MODBUS TCP/IP Server while the SCADA would be configured as a Client. Hope this helps Cheers Navnag |

How much time ... depends upon how familiar are you with Modbus TCP and S7 Programming. Using the Modbus TCP Wizard, personally I had the connection Up & Running in 1 day. ( If you ignore the 1-2 days required to get the activation code from Germany ). A Sample project is included in the CD that you receive when you order the software. ( Description of the sample project is there in ch-8 of the Manual ( Copy attached ). Normally a good point to start is to use the sample project and run the Wizard to adjust your parameter settings. It is not as complicated as it seems to be. Hope this helps Cheers Navnag AttachmentModbus TCP PN_CPU English.pdf (270 Downloads) |

As has dchartieralready mentioned in a previous post : "The downloads are fully functionnal for testing purposes, but they generate a message "missing licenses" in the diagnostic buffer continuously, and causethe diagnostic LEDs to light up, which clients do not like to see.." |
