JeffStones Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	While I was installing multiple drives in my S7 1214 project using an M3 PG and TIA V13, after reaching 8 drives I was presented with the error message “Not enough memory to run this application”.I was advised to delete the last drive, which wasn’t fully installed anyway, then save, compile then close and re-open the project. After restarting the project I was then allowed to continue installing drives; however, after installing the 10^th drive I saw the same message again. I followed the same procedure as before and restarted the program but then I was only allowed to install two more drives before seeing the same message. Now I see the same message after increasing the drive count by one.My PG has 8Gb of RAM and I checked that I had at least 5Gb left when the message appeared and I have not started adding any program blocks as yet; so I am assuming that I have no problem with my PG. I have not attempted to write the same project using TIA V12.Has anyone else seen this problem?

JeffStones Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I ddn't realise there was an update; The software was only added to my suite of TIA software a couple of months ago but after checking 'installed software' there aren't any version or SP numbers. So, thanks Wizard; I shall try to update my software.

JeffStones Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Thanks Tom; I was already aware of that issue [one of many] but my system is Windows 7 64bit 8Gb RAM. If updating my TIA software doesn't work then I might try using V12; I know that I have installed the same number of drives before. However, if it points to yet another bug I am rather surprised not to see any other complaints on here. Thanks agin Tom

Jeff Stones Posts: 9 Rating: (1)	The reference to size of my operating system has piqued my interest; therefore I downloaded the compatibility tool https://support.automation.siemens.com/kompatool/pages/main/index.jsf Ilearned that Step 7 Professional (TIA Portal) V13 is compatible with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. However, the software app is also compatible with a 32 bit machine also. Therefore, I ask the question, is the TIA Portal application 32 bit?. If so, then surely the working memory is limited to 2.15 GB........approximately the size my PG is faulting at. I tried closing the Devices and Networks view, thinking that the graphics might be loading the memory....but that didn't help either. Attachment D:\Compatibility\Not enough memory.zip (401 Downloads)

After several debats and discussions with TIA Development engineers in Erlangen and eventually with Startdrive Development engineers in Hamburg it was suggested that in addition to updating my TIA V13 SP3 to SP4, I also needed to update my Startdrive software too ie, update 1. Since updating the Startdrive software this particular problem of 'Not enough Working Memory' is no longer an issue and I am now able to add more than seven (previous limit) different GSD or GSDML files into one project. Unfortunately, I have revealed several other problems in the process. I was promised that they would all be resolved with V14 however; now where have I heard that before?
