detection of "broken connection"by ethernet cable

luismarcelo Advanced Member Joined: 11/5/2013 Last visit: 7/28/2025 Posts: 37 Rating: (0)	Good afternoon all My problem is:I'am working with a Runtime Wincc flexible 2005 in a PC it is connected with 3 plc by ethernet and all works fine. But I want to detect a broken conncetion (by unpluging the ethernet cable for example) I´ve tried by "alarm indicator" and "alarm window" it works and pops up showing error 14003 or some similar number BUT ONLY FOR A MOMENT,then the windows closes, even when the cable is still unpluged, and doesn't pops up again I understan if the problem remains ( and it remains ) the alarm must keep going showing the alarm ,isn't ' it? but it doesn´t I need to detect this kind of problem ,what do you suggest?? I've tried attempt to detect the value of a numeric field ,in order to read"#######" when cable is unpluged,but I can´t do it because ###### is not a string neither a decimal value I need your help! thank you in advance!!
