Step to replace CPU 416-2XK02 by CPU 416-2XN05

DanhTran Posts: 14 Rating: (0)	Dear all, I have a probem when replacing an old CPU (6ES7416-2XK02-0AB0) by a new one (6ES7416-2XN05-0AB0). Because CPU 416-2XK02 is stopped producing from 2007. So i have to buy a new successor series. And i don't know how to replace a new CPU series step by step. Please advise me. Thanks a lot!

Hello DanhTran, Just to share some points: Ensure that you have final back-up of your project in an off-line database. Follow the step by step instructions explained in section 7.3 (replacing CPUs) in Automation System S7-400 Hardware and Installation manual. In step #7 of page 154 , transfer the configuration and program with required modiifications to FLASH (or in case of RAM download it in CPU). I hope this helps, Hamid Hosseini

It means that i have to re-configurate the hardware (replace object CPU 416-2XK02 by CPU 416-2XN05), then save & compile --> download to PLC, doesn't it? What happens if i've just take the memory card from the old CPU and insert that card into new CPU (in case program is stored in memory card)? Do I need to re-configurate the hardware? Thanks & best regrads!
