Amol S Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello Everybody, I am using PCS7 v6.1 When I open the @@PCS7typical.PDL, it shows me unknown object. The same unknown object are also shown for other @.pdl too. dmertens Silver Member Joined: 10/3/2007 Last visit: 10/29/2025 Posts: 188 Rating: (34)	This error indicates that the objects used in the drawing cannot be found in the expected location. These objects are probablybitmaps or emf files. Why you have this problem is not clear, when I create a new project I automatically get all the correct bitmaps and this problem doesn't occur. Check in the picture which objects are missing, the name of the missing bitmap or emf file should be one of the attributes of the element in the picture.

Amol S Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Dmertens, I am getting this error even for new project also. I tried deinstaling and reinstalling (PCS7 library, faceplates and even complete PCS7) but still the error is there

PWS Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	I don't know whether your last post indicates you have solved the problem, but the "unknown objects" are the advanced analogue display and extended status display objects within the block icons (customised objects). These objects are part of the advanced process control (PCS7-only) option package for WinCC, and are installed as part of the PCS7 installation of WinCC. If you open a graphic on a computer with only WinCC (even WinCC + Basic Process Control) but no PCS7 OS, these object types are not available. Check the Smart Objects in the objects palette in the Graphics Designer - are these object types visible at the bottom of the list? If not, there is your problem. How to fix it? If it is a PCS7 installation, you should be able to reinstall over the existing installation. DON'T UNINSTALL PCS7. You will have to reformat your hard drive and start again if you do. I'll try just about anything before I do that! If it is another PC with just WinCC, sorry, I think you need to install the PCS7 OS and relevant licences.
