Symbolic acces with hmi alarms

Osld13 Experienced Member Joined: 3/20/2012 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 120 Rating: (1)	Dear all, When you want to show the alarms on an hmi, you have to send it from the Plc in a word (of 16 alarms). If you want o use the symbolic access in hmi, you have to declare the word in the API. And if it's in a DB, you can't affect a symbolic name to the word and to the bool. So you can't have symbolic names for the boolean alarmsin your step7 program. The problem has been existing for nearly 20 years now. I thought it had been solved with Portal...May be i've dreamt! Any idea, any tip? Best regards.
