Machine Cycle timer

Weissflog Posts: 23 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have a packaging machine and Iwould like to programm a Cycle timer so I can see how many steps it runs per minute. I also want tu use a Gauge to make it visible in the HMI I'm using a 314C-PLC and TP-700 Comfort panel. Both the PLC an HMI programmed in TIA portal

Do you mean cycle time of your CPU or a timer that counts steps of a sequence (as you want to show steps per minute)? regards

My main drive is a shaft where we fitted an inductive sensor, every time the sensor is made my machine has made a step. So I would like to show on my HMI how often my sensor is made p/min.

Hi Weissflog, you can use a standard on-delay timer (s_ODT S). For S (set)input you will use negated output of timer, for R (reset) input you will use output of timer. By that you getone output pulse per minute, which lasts one cycle only. As long as output of timer is 0 and there is a rising pulse of inductive sensor you will add 1 to a markerword "count". When output of timer is 1 you would move your markerword "count" to a markerword "result" and then initialize your markerword"count". the markerword "result you will show in HMI. regards
