Im not an SI, can anyone explain to me the PLCfimrware to TIA version compatibility? I understand V4 PLCs are out now but we still have V3 are there any potential pit falls with the new TIA V13? Thanks Mark W Mark, It is good to hear from you. There should not be any reason for you to worry about the software higher version to hardware lower version in the way you are talking of. The later hardware versions gives you access to more functionality. This is not a problem for you.. don't worry about that.. okay? w

Mark Walton Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Huggy, It is very interesting that you mension the PSU. This is the 1st Siemens duty/duty system we have installed. We did a Rockwell duty/duty system and due to doubling up the instruments + extra relays the MCB to the PSU occasionally tripped! (we used the same size/type as duty only)Might not have affected the Rockwell in the same way but is something I can look at Thanks! Mark

Mark Walton Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Update Even with the UPS installed we had a hardware fault again a week ago. We are feeding solenoid valves through our output cards. They are 110v and 6W hold-in I am going to fit Varistors on the coils for surpression. Could voltage spikes from the 110v cause problems? Or any other ideas? Mark

If I had your problem, I would probably take some type of measures as you suggest. I woul add solid state relays between PLC and valves to try and isolate the systems in some way. But it will be out of pure despiration. w
