Hi all, 

I am new to TIA PORTAL and I'm using V13 upd 4, so I may not know the latest features of the software.

My problem is that I have an UDT as a variable in the InOut interface of my function.  As you can see in the image attached, "Variable_1"  is a WORD type. Is there any way I can easily access a bit from that word?

I've tried many combinations including:

A  # "Status".Variable_1.dbx0.0

but it doesn't work. 

Any advices, please?

You have to use the AT data type to fetch BOOL from the Word or DWord.

an easy way would be to MOVE your variable to a Markerbyte/-word like MB100/MW100 and then access bits like M100.0, M100.1.....etc.

I'm using CPU S7- 317 so the "Sliceing" method will not work. Anyway, I've tried eisenpferdreiter's solution. Works great.
