Is it possible to retreive here the GSD File for the Siemens PRU10.64 controller? Or is it possible to retrieve a download link for it?

I cannot locate the gsd file for this unit.

It seems to be a very old module, sold by Unigyr and Landis Staefa before Siemens purchased them and integrated their modules in the SBT (Siemens Building Technologies) division. Some web articles mention that Desigo controllers can use Profibus to connect to the PRU 10, but I can find no detailed manual or gsd file.

I suggest you contact your closest SBT contact and ask for support directly.

Thank you very much for your fast reply as well for the information given!

Regarding the contact for the SBT support, the page can be opened just fine as well as alltabs except the Contact tab, there is no information in that tab. I already tried to opened it in three different web browser and still I can't see the contact information.

Do you know with whom can I contact for this issue?

Hello Alain;

This is what I see when I open the link I forwarded (see the attached picture).

I can easily select any country in the country list (I opened France for this example) and you can see the main contact for France is displayed.

If you cannot open the link please tell us what country and region you need the information for, so we can show it here.

Thank you again Mr. Chartier and sorry for my late reply.

It had to do with my security configuration of the browsers, we have already contacted the SBT department and we are just waiting for feedback.

Regarding the fact that is a very old module,  it seems that from the configuration of the UNIGYR controller a sort of internal configuration file becomes available (.oal file), which needs to be converted by a certain tool PointRep.exe (tool delivered with Siemens SCADA software) and the result is a .adr file which contains detailed Modbus information.

I think the .adr file is something that was used before the GSD files which are used nowadays.
So if we could find a tool that converts this .adr file to a GSD file we would really appreciate it.

A gsd file is a simple text file that contains formatted information so a Profibus master can integrate a slave from another manufacturer.

Modbus and Profibus are 2 very different networks (even though Modbus RTU and Profibus-DP can operate on the same RS-485 hardware level). They cannot coexist on the same cable installation, and you cannot change from one to another simply by changing the configuration file.

Start by obtaining all available details of the communications ( type of Modbus, speed, parity...) available through this .adr file, and get the Modbus mapping of the PRU 10 unit over Modbus. Then we can see about either choosing a communication processor you can use from your exiting CPU, or help you look for a Modbus to Profibus gateway.
