Has anyone found a solution to the problem in TIA13 SCL where statements like

    "DB Item Force".DW[Valve_Index] := 9;        // 9 = Force reset

now no longer works in TIA, but used to work fine in Step7.

did do you try "D" instead of "DW"?

TIA is symbolic. Direct adressing is not adviced. But you can still access bits, bytes,... from symbolic values.

For example:  "Test.x0" would be bit "0" from word "Test".

Read the manual, it's in there...

There are changes between Step7 V5.x and Step7 V1x.
The type of CPU that is used is also important.
Maybe have a look at [LINK1] [LINK2].. it might help.

After a bit of searching I found that the equivalent in TIA 13 is :-

      WORD_TO_BLOCK_DB(355).DW(#Valve_Index) := 9;

Tested with PLCSIM...seems to work OK. :)

 I was about to post this solution too 

Use the POKE instructions, u can write a Word, Byte, Bit, or anything data that u what about and address, the instruction support Input, Output and DataBlock

For example:

POKE_BOOL(area := 16#84,

                      dbNumber := #DB_Input,

                      byteOffset := #ByteOffset,

                      bitOffset := #BitOffset,

                      value := #WriteValue);

the area 16#84 mean that it's aDB
