Load Memory RAM Free Bytes Status

CaptainFanatic Posts: 34 Rating: (2)	I have a few problems with the load memory on a CPU 414-3 lately. A number of changes have been made to the program on this PLC and the load memory needed to be compressed. As far as I know this requires a full download to the PLC andaPLC stop which is very inconvenient. I don't know of any way to avoid compressing the load memory, so I am trying to read the amount of free Load memory space on the MMC to display on the HMI and generate an alarm when it is low so a shutdowncan beplanned in advance. I am trying to read the size of Load memory that is free onthe MMC using the "RDSYSST" block, but I can only access the work memory. I can see the Load memory that is free using the PG but I want to store this value in a datablock that is read by the HMI. Is it possible to access this data in the PLC program? Or even better is there away to avoid having to compress the load memory?

CaptainFanatic Posts: 34 Rating: (2)	Thanks Aret, I had come across a similar problem in CFC in PCS7 where datablocks had to be compressed and the only way forward from there was a full download. I had assumed this would be the same for the Load Memory compress in Step7 but have just tested and it is not.
