FPGA implementation of profinet protocol

amit_profinet Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	HI friends, I have to develop profinet protocol(REAL TIME ETHERNET) in FPGA.But i am not able to get the proper profinet protocol technical datasheet. Also i would like to know what profinet protocol should be used for following application: 1.Communication between PC and end point device like motor or machine etc. 2. communication between various components. are there any present ASIC for real time ethernet -profinet. thanks in advance

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello, you may check for the ERTEC 200 and ERTEC 400 sets. They are used for PROFINET IO RT and IRT. Regarding your two questions I would say that PROFINET can be used to communicate between a PC and a Device like a Drive or IO but the communciation between two Devices like IO alone will not work. There are some possibilities with Drives yet because they can be used as Controler too... but this is very specific. Best regards J_Bell
