All the prior comments address the reasons and mitigating approaches to the limitations.

You can take a snapshot of the values of the DB and reload them after downloading and initializing the DB values.  There is a FAQ on this should you find it useful.  I do not have SP1 installed (yet) so cannot tell you if it is also in F1-Help.

Dear all,

this is the first time I am using TIA 13 SP1 with a IM151-8 CPU.

I have to do some logic with it and I noted that several commands or "features" that 1200 had, here are not available, but this is not the point of my thread.

What I would like to do is this : I have a DB with my parameters (it is retain and accessible via HMI).

If I add a variable in that DB (again retentive) and if I download the project, that DB will be initialized because it was changed.

I would like that it keep the last values instead of zeroing everything.

What can I do with this system ?

Copy the DB structure, and paste into a custom watch table.

Go online, and save the values. 

Now select all the monitored values and copy.  Go offline without saving the plc program and see if the offline values differ.  If so, paste over top to prove you can paste to a watch table set of values.

Now go online.  Make your DB change, download, go to the watch table and paste in your values again and click the lightning bolt "do it now" button.

Verify the changes took effect by opening the DB and monitoring the values and compare against default values.

Sorry , but it seems not working.

I take the snapshot and the "reload snapshot" button is active.

I go offline and add a variable.

I download the software and everything is zeroed and the "reload snapshot" is grey.

It only works only if i do not do any modifications.

THE CRAZY THING is that it zeroes everything and does not allow me to reload snapshot also if I simply change a name of a variable (note: the name, not add or change variable type).

Ouch ! Help me guys ! I cannot lose 100 parameters because I need to add 1 !!!
