Hello all,

I have to convert Byte in to individual bits. Any idea how to do that? I have looked at this link and I have to something similar to that but its confusing to me. Can anyone know how this can be implemented?

you can not convert a Byte to bits. 

A bit is a content of a byte. 

For example:

MB1 has the bits: M1.0; M1.1; M1.2; M1.3; M1.4; M1.5; M1.6; M1.7;

It is only a question of accessing this bits. In TIA you can use the slice-function, that is mentioned in the other thread you posted.

So basically if create a tag MB1 and definite that as a byte and then if I do MB1.0 then I will be able to read the first bit? I will read about slice-function. Thanks

 I am trying the slicing method. So I have defined a byte to MB8, and If i try to access the individual bit using %MB8.0 It doesn't let me do that? Why?? Can you shed some light? That would be helpful!! Thanks

You have to know that MB8 is built out of 8 bits: M8.0 - M8.7.
So also MW8 is built out of MB8 and MB9
Also the same applies for MD8.

   | ...............MD8................ | 32 bits each
   |...... MW8.......|...... MW10.......| 16 bits each
   |..MB8...|..MB9...| ..MB10..|..MB11..| 8 bits each
M8.7.................................M11.0

Now you can reach a bit by using..
* M8.4
* or with "value" defined as MB8.. "value".%X4
