We have an OP 73 panel at our site and I would like to simulate it on WINCC flexible wit Simatic Manager. I have tried but till now no success. My question is: Is it possible to simulate this on PC? and if yes, I would be glad if you could give an hint or a suggestion. Thank you.

Thank you for your quick response Engr. Ibrahim. I used the "Change Device Type" option to change from OP 3 to OP77B as suggested by the link you gave but no sccess still. I must be sincere that I am doing it for the first time with Siemens. I just want to use it to display data that are fetched from DB block, such as: When I press F4 Key, the current value of a variable in DB will be displyed n the screen. Any further suggestion or guideline on how to do this will be really appreciated! I have searched online but I could not find a clue till now.

Kindly check the following points:

1-WinCC flexible:

Open the project via "Project > Open" and then select "Project > Change Device Type...". Now select the relevant device type"OP 77 B" and confirm with "OK".

 Compile and Save.

Being not an expert in PLC programming, my next question is: I have created a simple program containing OB,FC,FB, DB, UDT and I tested it on the CPU. While testing it online I updated an FC with a variable, but after downloading it again to the CPU some of the old values are still saved in memory and I could not reset them. It makes the program not to function in wrong ways because the old values in the DB are still there ( eg. DB221.DBX0.1 and DB521.DBX0.3 are still "TRUE" but their default values were "FALSE"). How can I reset these values??

What I have tried but no success:

1. Deleted the OB,FC,FB, DBs in Online mode and re-downloaded them to CPU.

2. Removing the MMC card of the CPU and switched to MRES and back.

3. Restarted the CPU.

4. Run another program on the same CPU with the aim of overwriting/reseting the saved values in the memory.

This drives me crazy all day long! Any help will be appreciated! Thanks.

 To change the status of these values "DB221.DBX0.1 and DB521.DBX0.3" you have used the function S "SET"? or something else? Have you tried pressing CTRL+ALT+R to see if it is called from something else?

What type of CPU you have? e.g. code 6ES7 31x-xxxxx-xxxx

You can post your program to see how it's done?
