this is not possible.

The projectformat of TIA V13 SP1 is not compatoble with V13.

Is better to download the SP1 for TIA V13 and install it then open the project.

i don't understand the problem.

TIA V13 SP1 project have no compatibility to Version lower then V13 SP1, this based on the new features which are released with this version (new PLC Device, new FW , new compiler, new compiler settings)

To work with both versions TIA V13.0 and TIA V13 SP1 you can use the "Compatibility Mode" in

TIA V13 SP1.

Here you can build and configure project with V13 SP1 which can be used in V13.0 , but you can only use the feature set of the V13 in this V13.0 SP1 projects (no new device, no neW Function ...)

To use the Compatibility mode you need a empty V13.0 project and don't update the project to v13 SP1.

You can use your own V13 project or download the empty project from the CS Website:

Luckily the upgrade from V13.0 to V13.1 is available for "free".
Just too bad the install is so huge.

It would have been nice if..
* ..there was a simple (one package) upgrade package to get from V13.0.x to V13.1.5
* ..the installation did not take so long to execute.

It is strange to me that when the installation is running, the CPU / HDD / RAM does not seem to work very hard. I often wonder if it was not possible to have a "priority" setting that would make the software load more quickly.

It is a pain to upgrade a computer to updated Siemens software.
I think that is the biggest frustration.

 5 days for the update?

I normally need 2 hours to setup one of my VM's from Win7 Clear install to newest TIA Update (STEP7, WinCC, Safety)

(smile) Jeff is being his dramatic self!

Updating from V13.0 to V13.1.x does take longer.
(native install .. no Virtual Machine)
- clear any trace of V13.0
- install V13.1.0
- update V13.1.x  ..... all individual components

As Murphy's Law will have it,
you need to update that one PC you did not update yet..
while the service tech is already late for his appointment..
for which you were not briefed on.

Lesson learned - Have TIA on a VM.

hahahahahaha what the hell is that VM???? Never used by me... Is better????

Edit: I heard about many problems with VM (non functional drivers,...).
