Hi Guys,

Please help me. I am currently using IM-151-1 (6ES7-151-1BA02-0AB0) for my project(Step7 v5.5). When i remove one module from the rack, the whole rack will go down. I did a little research, and found out that this particular IM module can remove max one module, if i enable the “Operation at preset <> actual configuration" in the hardware configuration. 

However, things isn't always going to be easy as usual. =) the option is disable by default. Looking at the  data sheet it says i can enable it via the GSD files. I have no clue how to go about doing it, even i am able to locate the GSD filessss.

Will the pro out there please advise me on this issue, or are there any other solution?

for you module you have 2 opportunities in the HW-Manager:

1. from HW catalog

2. using a GSD / HW catalog

You can download the GSD File here:

After installing the GSD File choose the new entry in the HW-catalog.

Downloaded the file, but i don't see the GSD file in it. how do i install and edit the default settings?

go in HW-Config with a double click on the IM151-1. Then the proberties of the module will appear. #

Hi Guys!

i have previously posted regarding changing of IM module which allow the selection of the option "operation at present<>.." in the hardware configuration. However, i understand then, that it is not possible after Ylink. I need to have this option available, as it is part of the requirement. Therefore i will like to understand if it is possible to change out the whole IM and Ylink configuration before the the simplex system as shown in the attachment. There are available 3rd party module which provide such features, but do we have anything in Siemens?
