ET-200s Power Module Guidelines?

Hello, You can use ET200S configyrator to check the power module point and much more. When you insert max. number of IOs (which is related to summation of current consumption) for your selected modules, the configurator will not allow you to put another module except of another power module. You can use ET200S configurator from the following link. ET200S configurator Hope it helps.

It depends upon current consumption which is dependent upon cards selection. eg. AI cards use more current than DI so if you have more AI cards then u need a PM in between your cards. I havent used ET200S but from S7-1500 experience i am saying that as both can accomodate 32 cards in a row. Exactly! Use the card's specification data and make calculation about current consumption. Only in this way you could be sure about numbers. Of course you could separete the power supply's modules in groups (DI, AI, AO, safety DI...) again following the rule do not exceed the power module output. Personally I don't like configurator tool. May be you don't like to work on the edge. But you can decrease the number of modules powered from one PM. In any case configurator is a perfect tool and you can use it to know maximum number of modules that you shouldn't exceed then reduce this number as you want. Hope this helps.

Best regards, Hristo Mihalev I also thought about this thread when I saw configurator as a 'Perfect tool' but i have myself used the configurator for power calculations & it seems to work fine for that purpose.
