I have selected a S7 400 CPU MLFB No. 6ES7 412-2EK06-0AB0 it is CPU 412-2 PN

Following are my question.

1) Do I need a memory card.

2) If not then will the program loaded on the CPU will be there if power is not there for a month or more. 

3) In TIA selection tool I get 3 option for selecting memory card. "Flash" "RAM" "NONE" which type of memory card to be selected. 

4) If memory card is there, then do I need a extra battery back up.

No. Memory Card is for expanding the load memory. Work memory is already included (1MB)

If program is not larger than approx. 512 kB (integrated load memory) it fits completely in the CPU without memory card. To save the program in the internal load Memory (RAM), a BATTERY is necessary

None= If program is not larger than approx. 512 kB
RAM= If you Need to Change program very often, when you are doing the comissioning.
Flash= When comissioning is finished, you may use a FLASH to make program stored endless time even without power.

4.
YES. You need  battery back up all the time because values inside PLC are in RAM and will be lost without battery. Battery is needed by 400 CPU, no matter what memory card is selected.

Dear Sir,

In any case, Download user program to memory card can malfunction. Finally Through PG is to transfer program in memory card.
