Way to created pop-up windows for typical valves and pumps

selva68in Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	...[snip] is there a better way to created pop-up windows for typical valves and pumps or we have to use Picture window as this requires the window place to be fixed and quite laborious. Can we have a common pop-up floating window where we pass variables to a indirect tag as in most of SCADA software. Warm regards T.Selvarajan

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, You can create faceplates in WinCC, and pass the equipment's parameters to them upon opening. This has been discussed at the forum. Please search for "faceplates", and you'll find some material on it. Generally, picture windows are used. You can create a basic command screen, and pass tags, prefixes, and even the position to it when the user clicks the object to be opened. However, if you use 1 picture window only, beware that the user will only be able to open the faceplate for 1 object at a time. Best regards, Danielle

Create 4 Internal tags T12345_DESCRIPTION ( DataType - Text ) T54321_DESCRIPTION T12345_VALUE ( Data Type - Floating Point ) T54321_VALUE Put some start values in these tags so you can see the values when you open the template We mostly use Structure Tags for these type of applications ( pumps , valves etc ) as it makes the engineering a lot easier and everything is uniform.
