Help!! problem whit cross references on Step7 5.4

I have install on my new lap top (HP Compaq 6710b) the Step7 5.4 sp2 I try to open the cross reference tool from Simatic Manager, the tool start, load the data, but when the data are loaded, the data window shutdown itself. After more attempt to load cross references, the tool crash and a Microfoft windows messsage advise that have error on "S7XUTAPX Applikation".(see the attachment screen shot) I try to install Step7 5.4 sp3 but nothing change.. Thanks for your so rapid response !!! :) You have reason, somethings happens with Hp tool My LapTophave a device for read digital prints of my finger instead insert password by keyboard When Window Xp start ask to insert password for connect pc to company net If i enter pasword by keyboard all work fine. If i use digital print device the problem it happens Maybe i will try to do some different configurations in the HP tool, or remove it..(heeh but this last option is not so easy) Ib any case...Thanksyou a lot for the help!! Just happened to me on my new PC.... Installed S7 v5.4 SP3 on Vista Ultimate, and the behaviour is exactly same as above. Actually my PC is an ASUS with fingerprint device, I suspect this is messing around as the HP does. Will try and let you know. Massimo

MaxSox Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Now it works! Uninstalled ASUS security platform (similar to HP tools for fingerprint reading) and now runs smoothly. Hope this can help someone else.

Joozt Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi, I had exactly the same problem (HP6710b notebook with STEP7 5.4 +SP3). After reading this post I de-installed the HP-Credential Manager (which is part of HP-tools). This solved the problem. Thanks!
