Hi all,

I am attempting to connect to a Siprotec 7SD6101 relay using Plug and Play as I don't have a backup of the device using DIGSI 4.90.

However, I am unable to even select Plug and Play because it is greyed out!

I have followed the basic steps in chapter 7.2 of the SIPROTEC_Manual_B7_V991700_en.pdf but could not find the Plug and Play dialog via the Device > Create device via Plug & Play context menu.

Is there something fundamental that I am missing???

First of all, after you have opened the SIMATIC-Manager you have to change the View from "Component-view" to "Topological-view". Than the plug&play button can be activated. Than right click on the Folder, which will appear and the device can be addet to your project.

Its strange how DIGSI 4.90 defaults to opening in Component View. But I guess that is how Siemens is trying to marry everything together in a DCS like manner.

I've switched to topolgical view and sure enough, Folder is available as well as the Device-> DIGSI (Plug and Play)
