Is it possible to have s7-400H redundant system with s7-400 IO card? I don't required IO redundancy. If possible can anybody share sample program.

 Hello maddyk,

Why do not you try it in the hardware configuration? Just try to put the IO module on S7 400 rack beside one of the CPUs.

But suppose i put IO's on one of the CPU, and that cpu goes in stop mode then how will other CPU will access the IO.

The io card that you are placing on the 400 rack suppose on rack1 and if rack1 cpu goes to stop then that io's i h=think will not be accessible to cpu2

You can use S7-400 Modules in Central racks and Expansion Units.

See  Chapter-13 for details

You have the following options :

Single-channel one-sided I/O

Redundant One Sided I/Os.

 I think the best practice is to put the redundant CPUs/CPs on the central rack.

For redundant I/Os or even simplex I/Os that you need to access from both CPUs, you can use either RED-BUNDLE (which is 2 ET200M) with S7-300 I/O modules.

Another solution is to get only one ET200M with S7-300 modules and connect it to both CPUs using a Y-Link.
