Does the LOGO have a factory reset?

Pirate Paul Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi All, I have a LOGO OBA8+TDE running a program to control a water cooling system. I has been working fine for 2 weeks but then all of a sudden the TDE stopped showing the message texts from the program. Originally I thought it had dropped out of RUN mode and just stopped running, but then I noticed that the base-module was still alive and running its program as it was still modifying outputs to changing inputs. I investigated further and found that the TDE could not ping the base module any more. So I connected my laptop directly to the base module with a cross-over cable to port scan it to see if it had somehow set itself to an old IP address but I cannot see any IP addresses in the IPCONFIG results. I've tried netstat -r but I cannot see any IP address from the base module at all. Its just like the base-module has shutdown its ethernet port? So is there some sort of factory reset I can do to re-start the base module from scratch? And hopefully re-connect it to the TDE so I can start again?

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi, not for IP settings. Please check: + is the IP of the LOGO! BM right + is the IP Adr. of the TDE right + is the target LOGO! IP Adr in the TDE right + connect your pc via ethernet cable to LOGO! BM. Open a DOS promt (Win Start and search for CMD) on your PC and type in: ping <IP of LOGO! BM> You should see 4 lines with a text answere from <LOGO! IP> Do the same with the TDE IP Adr. If you get the answere time out..... Then this device cannot be connected with the IP-Adr. Is it possible that someone has changed the IP-adr of LOGO! and/or TDE? If so then look the cabinet! Pirate Paul Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have already tried all possibilities to detect the IP address of the base module (BM) using microsoft tools, just incase the BM has somehow randomly changed to a different network, but I had no luck with any microsoft pinging, or configuration commands like, IPCONFIG /all, ARP -a, netstat -a, mdstat, etc. This morning I have installed a program called "Wireshark" which is specifically designed to detect "ALL" traffic on an ethernet cable in the hope that it would identify an IP address of the BM so I could set all other devices to the same to communicate with it. I tried a normal Ethernet cable plugged directly into the BM (not through the TDE) but I got no results at all, so I then tried a ethernet crossover cable and again got no results. I confirmed this trick was working by plugging the same two cables into the TDE and I can see the IP address of that ok, and the wireshaft even reports the MAC address, and some description of the TDE SIEMENS hardware that is not seen using microsoft ping tricks. I can confirm that my BM has somehow shut-down its ethernet port, and as my OBA8 module came with a TDE the BM does not have an external screen or any buttons, so I have lost all capability to communicate with it. I need a factory reset if such a thing exists? and hopefully that will set the IP address back to the factory default and turn the ethernet port back on, to allow me to re-connect the TDE & my laptop so I can start again.

Pirate Paul Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi All, The OBA6 has direct cable access but the OBA8 only has Ethernet. So if the Ethernet port turns itself off you have no means of communication with the base module.... It's dead....
