Hello everyone

What is the easiest way to consider the number of PS power supplies I need to buy for ET200 MP and ET200 SP racks, since on TIA selection tool I will add a PM and the IM then I can add more than 10 cards and still it does not tell me any alarm to add a PS in between the cards, how can I know how many PS I need to buy with my cards without looking through every manual of every I/O module I need to buy and do the power calculation?

Is there an easy way in TIA selection tool?

Hello ASIMO99,

in my opinion is it with the TIA-Portal a easy way.
You can see it in the "project view" under the folder "24 V DC consumer view".
There you must connect the consumer to the power supply and then you can see the consumption of all cards.
When you select the station you can see more "Details" and can also sign in the consumption of your DQ-cards.

at the attachment you will find a sample project.
Please look at the folder"24 V DC consumer view" and select the power supply.
You should see the red crosses. The crosses show you that the consumption of yout parts is to high for this power supply.
You can see and define the consumption when you select e.g. the ET200SP and klick at the properties/details.

first I would like to thank you for your efforts to help those in need on this forum.

I have included a screenshot of your TIA selection tool program, my issue lies inside the ET200MP and ET200SP racks, I need to see how many PMs do I need for the cards I have installed.

Please see my attached example, would 2 power modules be enough for all the cards I have selected? and how can I determine if it is for my future projects?

I know what you want to see at the configuration.

Please look at the attachement, there are 2 pictures, one with out error and one with error.
If you configure a system and the current consumption is to high then TIA tool show a message (see picture with error). If you see the message the TIA tool don't place the selected card.

I hope this is that what you want.

note that in the ET 200SP you don´t need a PM.

The power supply of the modules are over the BaseUnits.

with the ET200MP is it the same procedure.
At the "24 V consumer view" can you make the connections from ET200 to the Power supply.
Important for your power supply is the concurrency factor (details). Standard value is 50 %. This means that maximum 50 % of the outputs are at the same time on (current total).
There you can change this value.
If the power supply is not enough for your application then you see the red crosses and also can you see the message at details.
