I have a doubt about the following points:

If we  have a station consist of (Simatic PLC+Simatic HMI+Inverter)

The inverter connected to the station through Profibus or ethernet or ........

1-Is it possible to replace the inverter to another brand has the same port and power rating like the old one without modifying the PLC program"only setup the inverter parameters"?

2-If the parameters loaded automatically to the inverter through the Bus,Is it possible to replace it to another brand also?

No it is not possible. User need to establish communication between PLC & another brand inverter so that drive could follow the commands & PLC could be updated about the drive status. For this user need to update PLC HW configuration.

The parameters will be not be loaded to another inverter automatically via bus. User need to establish the communication. Moreover another brand inverter, motor data & tunning has to be configured depending upon the parameters &  design of another inverter.

I understood that it is not possible to replace the inverter to another brand without modifying the PLC program in all cases.

 Just thinking theoretically here.....

Assume we are using PROFINET and the replacement drive also uses PROFINET and we use one of the standard (non-manufacturer specific) telegrams, then

- If the IP address and name are the same, then the communication should work.

- If the data in the telegram is the same and is in the same byte order, then data transfer should work.

Under these conditions, the replacement drive, even if a separate manufacturer, should work.

Hello,

the change can only be worked if no DeviceID and Vendor ID Check is implemented.
But this checks are normaly standard in the PN Stack of the PLC, so before a connection between the PLC and the device is stabllished the PLC check if thew connected device have the same Vendor/DeviceID like the projected , if the ID is different you get an SF Error and no communication established.

the check for Vendor/Device ID is in the FW of the PLC, you can't disable such feature because is FW and not USEr PLC Program.
