Siemens 810T GA1 and Step 5

AutoGen_484735 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	I have a customer that had a dead battery in his 810T GA1. The OEM is no longer in business. He received some files from another end user and paid a Siemens rep. to come out and load them. The PLC file is clearly not for this machine, although it may be from a similar machine from the same OEM. I have the Step 5 software on my PC, but I have not worked with a GA1. I have the series 800 Universal Interface Planning Guide but I do not see the cable connections for interface 1 or interface 2 to a windows based PC. In addition for a GA2 control I used the 810 GA2 Interface Part 1 Signals and the 810 GA2 Interface Part 2 Connection Conditions. I can only find the 810 GA1 Interface Part 1 Signals manual not a part 2. Does the part 2 Connection Conditions exist for a GA1 control? I am looking for c able connections and parameter settings for the interface 1 port talking to a PC. I wish to download the PLC code. I do not have the S5 file for this code, so after downloading it from the CNC into step 5 I will modify it and send it back to the CNC as well as preserve it in Step 5. As far as the rest of the machine data I will modify it as necessary.

AutoGen_484735 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	This is a Siemens 810 T GA1 CNC. It has a built in PLC. A PLC program is loaded however it needs modification. So I need the customer to connect his PC running Step 5 (windows PC) and download the program that is currently loaded.

I have made a 9-25 pin cable with the following connections. 9 pin 25 pin 2 2 3 3 4 6 5 7 6 20 7 5 8 4 I am trying to output PLC program to S5 on a laptop. I need parameter setting data fro the front connector on the 810T GA1. And information on how to send the PLC program to the laptop

Aviator_747 Posts: 92 Rating: (5)	you need to set your setting bit on your system control and PC and compiler program too. if you are useing step5, set 5010/5012 : 00000100 5011/5013 : 11000111 if you are useing PCIN , set 5010/5012 : 00000000 5011/5013 : 11000010 ( Boudrat 600 ) 5016:00101000 regards russell pm : you also have to jump 25pin 8,6,20 too.
