We have two DP network I have connected together with a DP/DP Coupler, please see attached picture.

Profibus Adresses:
300 Cpu side = 3
400 CPU side = 35

I have problem to get the communicateion up and running.
Dip switches:
DP1:
64 = OFF
32 =OFF
16 = OFF
8 = OFF
4 = OFF
2 = ON
1 = ON
ADDR = OFF
DIA = OFF
PS = ON

DP2:
64 = OFF
32 = ON
16 = OFF
8 =OFF
4 =OFF
2 = ON
1 = ON
ADDR = OFF
DIA = OFF
PS = OFF

1. If you goes online with hardware configuration shall both CPU see the DP/DP coupler?
Right now I got "module is not available. If I goes into diagnositc buffer on the module I got something like configuration is correct bu the module is different or something, I think these is a standard message?

Take a look at the following FAQ here and at the manual of the DP/ DP Coupler here for correct configuration. From your picture I see that the DP/ DP is terminal node for both networks so make sure your terminal resistors for each Profibus connector are in ON position.

2. My understanding is that wrong adressing for input / output in HW shall not make these problem, the link shall goes green anyway?

3. Can you please tell me what you understand from the diode light indication?
From the manual shall not the light blinking? be red og green?

4. When you goes online in hardware configuration, shall you be abel to see the DP/DP coupler and get info from it in diagnostic buffer?

How are the Profibus-subnets connected to the coupler?

Have you tried to switch the coupler off and on again?

The coupler needs an Power-on-reset to save the new address.

How is the coupler projected in Step7?

Profibus-subnets, then you are talking about the profibus slaves?

We have tired to recycle the DP/DP coupler yes.

The DP/DP coupler has been added in hardware configuration with correct profibus adress (same as preset with DIP switches).

Can somebody please answear my questions.

1. When you goes online in hardware configuration shall you see the DP/DP coupler as online from both CPU`s?

1. If we have not matching Input / Output adresses area in hardware configuration for DP/DP coupler for both CPU`s, the link shold still be online and no error on the DP/Dp coupler?
Or is it important adressing for input / output area is correct in both CPU`s before you will get the link up and no errors on the diodes on the DP/DP coupler?

I know that the addresess area for input and output is incorrect, but these is something we will fix later, these linkt is a interface between two companies.

yes you should see the coupler in both HW-configs.

The slots should be the same vice versa.

the addresses can be different.

I don´t ask for slaves. The coupler is a slave to the CPU, too. to both CPU´s

For me it seems that something with the connection to the coupler is wrong. Thats why I ask about the connector on the coupler. Please show us a picture of the both Profibus-connectors on your coupler.

Thank you for the feedback, I havent access to the equipment (its on the site).
I will check these up when I`m coming onboard in some weeks.

So you think there are a issue with the termination of profibus connector or some cabling issue?

When I got access to site again it turned out the issue was addressing I/Q was not matching in both ends.... So the flashing telling us that... nothing in the Siemens Documentation telling you about flashing lights.

All good now :)
