Which version of Step7 You have,

You have to used the Step7 V5.5

Engineering with
Programming package	STEP7 V 5.5 or higher

Error message is " The hardware configuration was created and downloaded with an incompatible version of step7. Could not upload hardware configuration. Kindly share best experience. Thanks

TIA can only upload configurations which was loaded with TIA to the PLC. So please use Step7 V5.x to upload the data, then you can migrate this upoloaded project to TIA and work in TIA with the project, if need. Regards Christoph
