Hello everyone. 

I want to ask about a specific thing. If i change the batteries of the PLC with new ones , Turn off PLC and start it again. Will i lose the information on it sicne i dont reset the alarm for batteries. When i trun it on the batteries indicators are off and PLC indicators say everything is OK. But i want to be sure if information stay too.

don´t turn off the CPU without batteries.

the batteries are for saving the program and datas, when the CPU has no power.

Some batteries needs to be short-circuited before using, because of an oxidcoating, that needs to brake through.

 Hello , ty for the fast reply , but i turn it off after i put new batteries ( they are functional ) but without clearing the error. When i turn it on there was no alarms for batteries but i dont know if without aknowledge the error they start working and saved the data before i turn the PLC off.

By error i meant the indicators for batteries.The general idea here is to know if i change batteries, while PLC is powered, and dont clear their error status. Then turn off PLC and back Turn on will program be saved ( batteries are ok but indicators were lighted when i turned off power ). After i turn on power the selftest of PLC say everything is ok. I can see PLC only as hardware.

Please follow procedures for changing batteries which is written in a small shee comming with the Siemens Batteries.

And please use Siemens batteries only.

Make a short circuit between battery polarities for 1-3 seconds before installing it.

Ensure the correct setting of battery selector switch. If you inserted One battery, set the switch position to 1BATT, ..etc.
