How get position of axis?

umakant Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	hi experts i commisioned s7 1200 with v90 drive using PTI mode. but i didnt use encoder ..i configure technology object (axis) . but when i use MC_readpara motion block . i get actual position of axis in "axis.actual_position" tag.. how i get this position of axis.?? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Split from Sinamics Servo Position Error.

Technology Team Platinum Expert Joined: 10/11/2006 Last visit: 9/8/2025 Posts: 6039 Rating: (828)	Dear Umakant, Even when you are not using an encoder, the position of the axis is being calculated internally by the technology object using the speed, which it's shown in the tag that you mentioned. This calculated value should be really closed to the actual value obtained when using an encoder.
