SINAUT MD720-3 Modem Not responding

AK83 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	SINAUT MD720-3 Modem functioning in terminal mode has been connected via RS232 cable to COM-port on the PC. The modem seems to be operating correctly (judging from led indicators). However, we were unable to get any responce from it through the HyperTerminal. It doesn't respond to any command. We've tried different speed setting and in 115200 it has returned a bunch of NaN. That's all. What could be a problem? Thanks in advance. Artjom

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, I found in the manual: Working with a terminal program To be able to control the device directly via AT commands, use a terminal program, e.g. HyperTerminal. Note the following settings: Make the connection: COM port to which the device is connected Speed: 19200 Bit/s Data bits: 8 Parity: No Stop bits: 1 Duplex: Full I would also check if your cable has the correct pinning. See the picture in annex from the manual: Attachment MD720-Modem cable.zip (449 Downloads)

AK83 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Beside Duplex setting everything is the same. Where is the Duplex parameter defind in HyperTerminal? I can only see a Flow Control there. The cable is RS232C and I am not sure about the pinning. As far as I can tell the first and the ninth pins are missing.
