I'm new to Step7 and currently using a (redundant) 414-5H PN/DP CPU.

The goal is to extract information concerning the (fault) status of an I/O unit (for example: a DI8x24V DC HF) and, separately, the diagnose of a single (channel) input[/output]. The end objective is to get a single Bool value that tells you if there is something wrong with a module and/or out/input, yes or no.

The CPU uses Profinet to connect with multiple remote I/O islands.

The programming program is Step7 v5.5.

Scanning true the forum i read about the SFC51 block, about something called RALARM,... In the manual of the ET 200SP Digital input module DI 8x24VDC HF (6ES7131-6BF00-0CA0) they mention something about "Evaluating hardware interrupts with IO controller" page 27/36, with a lot of information that can be extracted.

The only problem i have is that i don't really know how to use any of those, and since i'm not yet comfortable with Step7 i have no idea even how to implement these.

Can i use these in a, for example OB81? Or am i thinking wrongly.

Is there someone that could elaborate a bit more maybe on the (or a) possible solution(s)?
