I have a list of hardware like: cpu 412-3h, et2oom (3 nos.), hmi- mp277, cpu 315-2dp with TIM3V-IE( which is used for remote wincc comminication over GSM). this all component will be on one profibus network. You can refer attached Word file for system architecture. Can you confirm, this architecture will work with all features/ full flash........we have doubt on HMI( as a master). I think link gives the example/ solution for 414/7 - 4H CPU which has a 2 onboard DP port.. in my case only one DP port....and again DP slaves( ET 200M) and DP master HMI coming on same network, so just not sure and asking the same. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello Naishad, I am sorry... butthe PROFIBUS Repeater solutionwas the standard solution for interfacing a redundant PROFIBUS Master system. If you have a MP 277 with PROFIBUS Interface... this seems to be the way in my mind. If you want you can also use a software interface but than you have the problem that you need two different PROFIBUS Master addresses... if you have no Repeater... but this is explained in the already mentioned FAQs. If you use the Ethernet interface there is a different story. Best regards J_Bell

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	I would also like to comment on the 315-2DP connection. Are you using 315-2DP as a DP slave? In that case it may not be a bad idea to use a Y-link. Other wise in 400-H PLC configyou have to put two DP slaves, one 315-2DPon each profibus master system with same DP node address, which will have different IO addresses. Then in you need to out additional program in 400 PLC to detect which master system has the slave connected and use those IO areas. Above all these, the switch over between two master systems are really slow. Y-link solves all these problems.
