Use of servo with PLC and drive

cenk4 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Dear experts, I have a project to do and want to use Siemens products for this. It is the first time that I do something like this and need some advice. I just need to control two servo motors in two different directions. I want to use a PLC SIMATIC S7, and also need a drive like SINAMICS V90. I need a servo in the range of 0,2kW. But the problem is that the speed should be reduced because the servo will be used with a ballscrew to make a lineair motion and this should be really precise to the mm. I am also not sure which type of servo motor will be the best. My question is can the drive be used to reduce the speed of the motor , if yes: will this cause a long term damage to the motor because it doesn't run on optimum speed? Or do you suggest to use a gear system like SIMOGEAR to reduce this speed? In each case can you give me the best products that i can use for this project? Or how would you do it? Sorry for the dumb question. Thanks in advance! Cenk
