Hi everyone,

Ok, I am trying to add a HMI to an existing project that does not have any HMI's in use at the minute.

I am using step7 v5.5 and WinCC flecible 2008 (6AV6 611-0AA51-3CA5) with CPU 315-2/DP and the touch panel is tp 177A (6AV6 642-0AA11-0AX1).

Now when I right click on my project in step7, then insert new object, I cannot see add 'Simatic HMI-Station' from the drop down list?

I have 2 questions:

-Do I have the wrong verison of step7 for adding HMI devices?

- My step7 v5.5 is installed on windows 7 64-bit while the WinCC flexible 2008 is installed on a virtual machine with windows 7 32-bit. Will this cause a problem with communication between the two?

Hello,

if WinCC Flexible and Step7 is not installed on the same system then no HMI Station available in Step7.

You must install Step7 and WinCC Flexible on the same system.

WinCCflexible 2008 SP5 support Windows 7 64bit, so install this package and then you can create the HMI Station.

I have WinCC flexible compact 2008 SP2 which Siemens say is compatible for Windows 7 64/32 bit but would not work on 64 bit for me, only 32 bit.

Should I move my Step7 v5.5 to Windows 7 professional 32 bit?

I now have Step7 v5.5 and WinCC Flexible both installed on the same operating system but it 'Add simatic HMI-station' still does not appear?

Does anybody know why this is happening?

in which order you install?
First you must install step7 then WinCC with the Step7 Integration (Installoption).

If you install Step7 after WinCCFlexible reinstall winccflexible.

I reinstalled WinCC Flex and it auto-integrated with step7 itself.
