Simoreg DC Master Upgrade for Winder Application

MetalKain Regular Member Joined: 7/22/2013 Last visit: 12/26/2025 Posts: 34 Rating: (1)	Hello Everyone, I have a Simoreg DC-Master (6RA7082-6FV62-0-Z) working an Unwinder application (Indirect tension control) and data are exchanged via profibus with a Simatic S7-300 (PPO Type 5 telegrams). Now, we are searching the best option to upgrade it (Sinamics DCM? Maybe?). The new drive must have a similar functionality of Winder/Unwinder and let me transmit/receive the same information to Simatic S7-300 that controls the rest of the process. Thanks for your help. KSN Diamond Expert Joined: 8/25/2006 Last visit: 1/20/2026 Posts: 2221 Rating: (282)	Hello. You can upgrade to Sinamics DCM. You should write your own winder application using DCC or use Siemens winder DCC application. Telegrams to S7-300 could be adapted to those as were in Simoreg.
