• The Audit Trail is renamed on the HMI device with a time stamp with the following name: Name_Date_Time_HMIdeviceName, e.g., “Audit-trail_MixingStation_20050524_122358_MixingStation”.
• Next, the Audit Trail file will be moved to the server.
• All closed log files will be opened again.

In My case the server will be a compact flash card resident on the HMI. Will it be possible to use the FileSystem Object and methods to access/delete these archived files? It also appears from this this that a new audit trail will be started, so if I can delete the archivefiles I can limit size of the archive log.

Hi,
There's no problem in copying from one card to another on the same HMI. I'm no expert on scripting but if you can use the FileSystem Object on 'normal' log files then you should be able to use it on the audit trail copy as it's also a csv file.

Don't forget that as soon as you change the contents of the audit trail copy it will cease to be a validated file as required for FDA etc.
When you say delete the archive files I'm assuming you mean to delete the copy?

The size of the audit trail log file is effectively limited by the settings you make in WinCC Flexible(by declaring the 'Low free storage limits').
